Good afternoon ladies,

The family of Jim McCain has requested a luncheon.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. A burial will follow in Danville South Cemetery. A lunch at the church, following the burial, will be offered to all who are able to join.  We will plan on serving lunch between 12;45 and 1:00 p.m.  Please send prayers up for his family during this heartbreaking journey.

Wednesday 5:30 Mass cancelled in lieu of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

James Alan McClain, 58, of Danville, IN passed away at Hendricks Regional Hospital on June 20, 2023.  He was born in Clinton, IN and was a son of the late James and Georgia (Nacke) McClain.  In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by two brothers, Larry McClain, and infant brother, Kevin McClain.

Jim grew up in Rosedale, IN and graduated from Rosedale High School with the class of ’82.  He went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree in business from Marion College.  August 9, 1986 Jim married his best friend, Amy, and together they had two children; Amanda and T.J.  Jim enjoyed watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Jim is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Amy (Seward) McClain; two children, Amanda (Michael) Wycoff of Danville, T.J. McClain of Danville; 6 grandchildren, Jaylen, Mason James, Madison, Braxton Alan, Amelia, and Zayne William; brother, William (Katherine) McClain, and sister, Kelly Rogers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Helton & Harris Funeral Home, 102 S. Indiana St., Danville, IN 46122.  The Knights of Columbus will present the rosary at 4:00 p.m. A time of sharing stories about Jim, through tears and laughter, will be offered at the visitation. Please be encouraged to wear bright and cheerful colors to the visitation and Mass, it’s what Jim would have wanted.
